The Development Strategy is a fundamental document on thinking about development at the regional level. It is also a framework for the adoption of a numerous regional and local sector strategies, and represents a common vision and action plan of all entities from the public, private and civil sectors in the County.
The Brod-Posavina County Development Plan (2021-2027) is a basic strategic document in preparation for the purpose of planning the development of economic and social development of the County. The development plan follows up the County Development Strategy of Brod-Posavina County (2013 – 2020). The development plan will be the basis for helping to direct development processes in the county to: improve conditions for sustainable development, increase the competitiveness of the county’s economy, develop human resources, preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment and achieve higher quality of life and satisfaction of all citizens. Starting from the development needs, but also the possibilities of the County, the development plan will determine the vision, strategic goals, priorities and measures, the framework and the necessary basis for preparation, financing and implementation of development projects, which are one of the key drivers of change in the economy and society.
The supporting document of the Brod – Posavina County Development Strategy is the Action Plan, which will define specific projects and activities that will contribute to the achievement of strategic goals, priorities and measures of Brod – Posavina County Development Strategy or the Development Plan.
The County Development Strategy is adopted by the County Assembly in accordance with the principles of partnership and the previously obtained opinion of the County Partnership Council.
In October 2017, the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds began the process of drafting the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030 as the first comprehensive and act of strategic planning since the establishment of the Republic of Croatia.
The drafting of the Strategy gives greater importance to participatory processes in managing the development of the Republic of Croatia and in considering development problems, needs and challenges, and seeks to include the widest possible circle of citizens and stakeholders from all parts of the country. In this way, all interested parties have the opportunity to directly participate in solving development problems that they recognize as limiting factors of development in the area in which they live, and to point out certain under exploited development potentials.
